Hilary Alexander Fashion journo from the UK tweeting in the lead up.. mentioning the front row consisting of Jade Jagger and Daisy Lowe. I remember Alexander sitting next to Kylie Minogue at the Chanel show in 2006, one of Kylie’s first public appearences since the completion of her treatment for breast cancer.
For the show in Paris , there will be approximately 52 cameras doing 360 degree photos and visuals for the live feed to iPad and iphone.
I am watching from my trusty iMac computer….. via Australian journalist Patty Huntington (whom i greatly admire) facebook page.
And they are LIVE!!!!!..My link kept dropping out and sent many bloggers and online users in meltdowns!!!!
This Collection so far..A Mish mash of Asian influence and african safari.Taxidermy tigers on the Slab/ Runway, many flowy and structured pieces with zebra prints in metalics, varying in colour. I loved the white suit with the giraffes and a panda dress.Models walked a black slab of marble for their runway.
Alot of Colour Blocking…Ultraviolet Pinks, blue, Purples, Metallics, seemingly discs sewn on to the first couple of garments. Lace fans, high waisted shorts, japanese style influences, sleeveles tops and knee length pink kimono, I loved the Shiny/metallic Blue tailored suit modelled by Ajak Deng.
Lanvin, a fashion house of Paris since the early 1900’s and considered one of the oldest was created by dressmaker to Europe’s wealthy clients- Jeanne Lanvin Jeanne Lanvin died in 1946 and her daughter then took rein of the label. Having had many owners, creative directors and designers work on the label- It is now in the designer hands of Mr Elbaz.
The night of the show, attendees where kept waiting out in the rain as last minute rehearsals were carried out inside for over an hour!! Wait staff were sent out the guests delivering champagne and chocolate truffles to appease their moods and patience.
Editors from American,Italian and French Vogue were finally able to see what Lanvin had for their Spring/Summer collections. Janet Jackson had her seat ( seemingly a constant vision at paris fashion week this year) as did Dita Von Teese ( almost a resident of Paris by now- who can blame her?) and Rocker Lenny Kravitz. Lanvin is quite often seen on the red carpets at premieres and award seasons in Hollywood. Michelle Obama has also given the label a profile too in America. In September it was announced that H&M would have Lanvin as guest designer for European winter.. The designs will be available in November 2010
Jean Paul Gaultier (drrroools) I have loved his creations for many years and this year he did not fail me!.
This year there seems to be a little for everyone…Leathers, sheers,lace, pants, dresses, jackets and fishnets that are much wider than more traditional ones.
Often accused of not being ‘wearable” nor “consumer friendly” pieces from this collection would have its fan as I think this collection has creations that are wearable.There is leather, sheer, vintage fabrics and .. especially if you have an inner rocker side to your character!
I think of Joan Jett, Suzie Quatro and other alike when I gaze upon the models.. Some outfits looking like something these rock chicks would have worn in the years of their success. Topping it off by having a plus size rock chick walk in his Paris show…
The Gossip lead singer Beth Ditto closes the show for Gaultier toasting with a glass of bubbles.. Ditto decked out in Couture and Gaultier in a Gossip Tee- public display of the mutual admiration society.
From the House… Errr Stable of Chanel.. Karl unbridles one of my fave collections in Paris.
I love Chanel and I love Karl Lagerfeld, and I love how karl stays true to Chanel with his twin sets and signature Chanel fabrics.
I was a little shocked to see the clog made such use of with Chanel… heeled and wedged Uncle karl almost makes the models seem horse like with a Chanel stable ,and models walking in almost a hoofed clog..
Checkout when the music changes and Lily Allen takes to the….runway?, paddock?.. Love her entrance!!! (@ 3:35)

Congratulations seem to be in order for Nicola Formichetti…has been named as the new Creative Director for Thierry Mugler.
Formichetti is a Fashion Editor/Stylist based in New York and has styled for a a number of Fashion houses including Alexander McQueen.. and has worked most recently with Lady Gaga.
The Haus Of Gaga and Formichetti collaboration resulted in the “discovery” of sicilian Jo Calderone (aka lady Gaga) - featured in Vogue Hommes Japan recently.
I will be definately keen to see what Nicola Formichetti brings to the often edgy Mugler brand and what direction he will take it

JO CALDERONE for VOGUE HOMMES JAPAN
Jo Calderone aka Lady Gaga aka Stefani Germanotta … geez are these alter ego’s just entertainment factor or is there a tax reason involved?? :P
After rocking Australia to its core earlier this year, Lady Gaga flew into Japan and into mens wardrobe. Styled by the amazing -Nicola Formachetti ( who has worked with Gaga on many photoshoots) and Photographed by Nick Knight… the combination of this collaboration ended in a truly amazing shoot,stripping Gaga back strapping her (chest ) down and then transforming into model - Jo Calderone
Calderone was interviewed by Jo ann Furniss talks of being from Palermo and “his” relationship with Lady Gaga. Claiming they met at a Nick Knight photoshoot and that he took her out afterwards going to say the rest was “private”
Didnt take long for the cover to be blown and it be revealed it was infact Lady Gaga… Perez Hilton didnt help the cause my claiming undying love for Calderone…. but the minute Calderone struck a profile pose… you cant deny it wasnt Gaga packing rolled up socks down there…
Sadly the gag didn’t seem to get a chance to really trick anyone but I appreciate and loved the idea!
Either way I HEART all of the above person/s … and Love the Covers!!

THE SHOWGIRL RETURNS- LES FOLIES TOUR 2011
With the worldwide hit of her 11th studio album…Aphrodite, it is just a matter of time before “Camp Kylie” announce dates for the accompanying concert tour to follow up the album.
Posters have gone up in Berlin already for the ”Les Folies Tour” with dates starting in Germany in April 2011 but are these one off performances or has Kylie got the hot glue gun out and is firing it up for some hardcore bedazzling? and months of gruelling touring….
It seems that with America now on her tour schedules and deepening pressure to do more European countries Kylie concert tours may now take a little longer than usual and starting a little earlier…
In the past the trend is to be on Tour in the UK till around September/October then a month or so off then to greet the warmer weather In Australia for November/December - staying on for Xmas in Melbourne then back to the UK….
Having Kylie home recently and performing on Australian Tv (for the first time in ten years) really had me salivating for having her come back and tour with Aphrodite… its a great album and I cannot wait to see what she has planned for the tour!..
Whilst promoting Aphrodite- Kylie has hinted that a tour would be coming in 2011.
Now we play ….. the waiting game…

NICKY HILTON and CHARLIE BROWN
Fashion Designer Charlie Brown is believed to be in talks with Hilton management to bring the good girl Hilton to Sydney to be ambassador and walk in the labels show for Rosemount Fashion Week, in Sydney next week.
NOt a far fetched idea as Charlie Brown has used international celebrities in the past such as Linda Evangelista, Jerry Hall, Sophie Dahl and Jade Jagger.
Publicist for Brown, Amanda Archer would not make a confirmation or deny any negotiations of a deal, but did say that ” Nicky Hilton would be an excellent ambassador for the brand though” .
Charlie Brown is believed to be looking for the younger market with this range and someone like Nicky Hilton who is classier than sis Paris- i think would be an excellent choice!
I have however in the past tweeted that I think Princess Eugenie and possibly her mother.. Sarah Ferguson should headline a Brown ad campaign in the future..
DANNII MINOGUE: STYLE QUEEN
The normally private Dannii Minogue has let the cameras follow her life, for a three part reality show for Britian’s IVT2 (home of UK’s “X Factor) channel. The crew follows Dannii and boyfriend Kris Smith, back and forward from the UK to Australia- as Dannii has TV committments keeping her very busy and I’m sure racking up the frequent flyer points!!
I have seen two espidoes so far and have loved every minute of it..”Ahhhhh-mazing” I am proud to confess that I have loved Dannii ever since she was… Dannielle back on Young Talent Time!..Truth be known, she was my very first Minogue crush!.
Dannii Minogue : Style Queen, follows Dannii and her best friend Tabitha- putting together the final touches of their clothing label “Project D”.
This isnt DM’s first debut in the fashion industry.. back in the early 90’s you may recall a line called “Dannii” that was released in Australia. Back then her very teeny boppy range for young girls and teens line sold out in TEN days!!! The label went on sale again for three consecutive summers.
Speaking of summer we get to see Dannii at home over Christmas and New Year in sunny Melbourne, driving around with the roof off taking in the Australian sun whilst Tabitha handles the label back home in snowy London.
Dannii also gets back in the recording studio, meetings with music producers and laying down vocals for a new song . Also doing shoots and ads for the Marks & Spencer campaign she appears in with legendary model Twiggy..all this combined with “Every girl’s dream” of producing her own perfume on the “Project D” label- all the while being pregnant!!!!
The show really shows how hard working those Minogue girls can be! We see big sis Kylie, out with Dannii at the Elle awards in London and a rare glimpse of the sisters away from the media… beit only brief..
I look forward to seeing the third and final episode sometime this week! _ it has only just aired in the UK last night!.
Im not sure if there are dates for Australian screenings of this docco but will let you know as soon as Dannii answers my Tweets :P
